Please pass the word on to friends from other organizations that have experienced racers too…. because the Grass Drag organization wants to have experienced kids racing that day only and doesn't want walk-ons because of the speeds and safety issues. The price will be $10-15 per class. All racers will need Helmet, goggles (or shield), chest protector, long sleeve shirt and long pants as well as shin guards and shoes (NOT Sandals!). We'll give you more information when you pre-register in regards of pit area and where and when to meet on the day of the event, we'll also have insurance waivers to sign the day of the event. KPI will have a booth that the Beltrands are setting up and they are still looking for volunteers to work that, as well.
We look forward to seeing everyone~

Thanks~

Rick & Jen Waite
H:763.753.9200
Rick C: 763.568.0188
Jen C: 763-567-8737
email: rickjenskidoo@msn.com

WATERSKIPPING..............Who would have ever thought this was something that would happen on a youth size machine?
To be honest, I wasn`t real excited about the concept of taking a new, hot engine and dipping it in cold lake water several times per hr. in an attempt to reach the opposite shore. CRAZY?
That opinion changed at Grantsburg!
I`m here to say "WE ALL HAD A BLAST"!!!
We would like to take a couple minutes to first thank the Bihner family for all the work they did in spearheading and organizing this concept. Additional thanks to everyone at KPI for contributing their time and effort to professionally represent our group with the booth and sled displays on dealers row. VERY NICE JOB GUYS!!!
Another big thanks to Duke and his Grantsburg crew. They are as nice of a bunch of people as we have ever met. It`s no wonder this group was celebrating it`s 32nd year as a host! Top notch people creating a top notch event!
Our hats are also off to everyone at the IWA and the Vintage Sled Waterskippers. Here again, super nice people! We appreciate them finding an opening for us and giving us a chance to do our thing.
I also would personally like to again thank my riders (TDK Racing/Turner, Daulton & Kyle), crew (Skippy & Rick)
and their families.
On the technical end, special thanks to Bill Tripp/Kids Performance for building an awesome pipe, Wahl Bros. Racing as always for tech advice and parts, parts and more parts and John at Northern Crankshafts for his expertise on these "Old School" free air Suzuki crankshafts. It was truly a 100% TEAM Effort in making our 1st waterskip project sled a success.
And in closing, I think the real success for all of us was to witness and experience the looks in our children's, dads and families eyes when all the kids took to the water. This was certainly a big challenge for all of us as parents, builders and riders.
The winners here are everyone that had the opportunity to participate and witness this new frontier.
We will certainly be back for more next year. The 09`"CatFish" is already on the drawing board!
Thanks again to all.
Gregg Childs/Team Bulldozer

Grantsburg Watercross:

A big Thank You to Greg and Jeni Bihner for doing all the work to get KPI setup at the Grantsburg Watercross. They took a day off of work and pulled the trailer up there on Thursday night and got it all set up. Thank you to Dave and Trish Junglen for all the help and the use of the trailer ( palace! ). We had a lot of people stop by the trailer and talk about kids racing. Thank you to Greg for building a kids water crosser and letting five kids make water cross attempts. Miranda made two tries and was smiling big each time she came out of the water. Many of the Watercross racers came up to us and looked at the sleds. One father said "The kids sled running on water really got my kids attention, we need to build one of these for next year", another girl told use "my Dad is already working on a kids watercross sled".

The whole weekend was a big success and a lot of fun. It was the Miller Family's first Watercross event but it won't be the last. Look for Marti, Miranda, and Sara to be ripping up the water next year!

Marti Miller

Grantsburg Watercross~
We'd like to Thank the Bihner family for heading up this event, you guys did alot of work and we appreciate everything you do and did to make this happen. We'd also like to Thank Gregg Childs/Bulldozer Chassis for building a watercross sled and asking Kyle to ride it. He had a blast riding it and we still can't get the smile off his face or the proudness out of his heart, after he was the first kid to cross the 412 or 400+ feet across Memory Lake. I know those memories will never leave any of us.
This was a great event and it was a ton of fun for everyone that attended! Thanks to all that made this happen!
Rick and Jen Waite

Kid's Pro Ice members, from Jenni Bihner,
Hello all. I am passing on information about the Grantsburg Watercross being held July 18th to July 20th in case anyone is interested in being there, helping with the booth, and/or watercrossing. If you are planning on watercrossing, I will need to hear back from you by Wednesday, July 9th to get you the proper registration and waiver form.
The watercross starts at 1pm on Friday, July 18th. There is a street dance from 8:30-12:30. Saturday's racing starts at 9:30 and Saturday evening events include another street dance 8:30-12:30 and fireworks at dusk. They do an awesome job with the fireworks and it is definately worth seeing if you plan on being around for the day. Sunday racing starts at 9:30 again and runs until about 5.
We plan on having a booth there for the entire weekend. Please let me know if you are interested in helping out with this so we can plan some shifts.
If you would like more information on the event itself you can visit the website at www.grantsburgwatercross.com
If you would like more information on the booth you can contact Jeni Bihner at 651-779-9968 or jenniferbihner@msn.com

Hi Fellow Race Families;

We are looking at possibly doing a KPI parade float in the Forest Lake 4th of July parade. This is the states largest parade. People start putting out there chairs and blankets 3-4 days before the parade even starts. We have the truck and flat bed trailer and all the decorations already donated if needed. What we need to know is if we have enough kids and families interest in taking part in the parade. The kids can also have there sleds on the trailer to show them off (we are hoping to get one of each kind of sled) or just ride along for the fun of it. There are a lot of kids at the parade and this would be a good way to get the word out about our group and hopefully get some new members. We are willing to do the set up and take down, but if you wish to help that would be great. (We will be decorating the float Fri late afternoon early evening) We are just waiting on the sponsorship O.K for the parade fee.(If the sponsor turns us down the fee is $125.00 if you know of someone else that may be interested in helping sponsor us) We would need to start lining up at 9am and the parade starts a 10am. Please let me know ASAP if you’re interested. There is also a carnival and a huge fireworks display if you wish to stay in Forest Lake and spend the day.

Thanks the Steuernagel Family.

danandkelly@frontiernet.net or 651-462-8592

HI Everyone,
I would like to let you know that we have a sponsor for the parade. Jeff and Kim Nelson's company Climate Works has offered to sponsor the float. I would like to thank them for helping to sponsor and promote the group. If anyone else is willing to help us out let me know. This is a huge parade so hopefully we will find some new racers. Here is a quote from Kare 11 News "Forest Lake's Fourth of July parade is the biggest in the state, dating back 84 years. It draws 30,000 spectators and 170 units" WOW!!! That a lot of people. Thanks again Jeff and Kim Nelson
Kelly
