A big Thank You to Greg and Jeni Bihner for doing all the work to get KPI setup at the Grantsburg Watercross. They took a day off of work and pulled the trailer up there on Thursday night and got it all set up. Thank you to Dave and Trish Junglen for all the help and the use of the trailer ( palace! ). We had a lot of people stop by the trailer and talk about kids racing. Thank you to Greg for building a kids water crosser and letting five kids make water cross attempts. Miranda made two tries and was smiling big each time she came out of the water. Many of the Watercross racers came up to us and looked at the sleds. One father said "The kids sled running on water really got my kids attention, we need to build one of these for next year", another girl told use "my Dad is already working on a kids watercross sled".
The whole weekend was a big success and a lot of fun. It was the Miller Family's first Watercross event but it won't be the last. Look for Marti, Miranda, and Sara to be ripping up the water next year!

WATERSKIPPING..............Who would have ever thought this was something that would happen on a youth size machine? To be honest, I wasn`t real excited about the concept of taking a new, hot engine and dipping it in cold lake water several times per hr. in an attempt to reach the opposite shore. CRAZY? That opinion changed at Grantsburg! I`m here to say "WE ALL HAD A BLAST"!!! We would like to take a couple minutes to first thank the Bihner family for all the work they did in spearheading and organizing this concept. Additional thanks to everyone at KPI for contributing their time and effort to professionally represent our group with the booth and sled displays on dealers row. VERY NICE JOB GUYS!!! Another big thanks to Duke and his Grantsburg crew. They are as nice of a bunch of people as we have ever met. It`s no wonder this group was celebrating it`s 32nd year as a host! Top notch people creating a top notch event! Our hats are also off to everyone at the IWA and the Vintage Sled Waterskippers. Here again, super nice people! We appreciate them finding an opening for us and giving us a chance to do our thing. I also would personally like to again thank my riders (TDK Racing/Turner, Daulton & Kyle), crew (Skippy & Rick) and their families. On the technical end, special thanks to Bill Tripp/Kids Performance for building an awesome pipe, Wahl Bros. Racing as always for tech advice and parts, parts and more parts and John at Northern Crankshafts for his expertise on these "Old School" free air Suzuki crankshafts. It was truly a 100% TEAM Effort in making our 1st waterskip project sled a success. And in closing, I think the real success for all of us was to witness and experience the looks in our children's, dads and families eyes when all the kids took to the water. This was certainly a big challenge for all of us as parents, builders and riders. The winners here are everyone that had the opportunity to participate and witness this new frontier. We will certainly be back for more next year. The 09`"CatFish" is already on the drawing board! Thanks again to all. Gregg Childs/Team Bulldozer Reply to this

Grantsburg Watercross:

I also would personally like to again thank my riders (TDK Racing/Turner, Daulton & Kyle), crew (Skippy & Rick)
and their families.

Hi everyone, Princeton Outlaw Grass Drags are not even 2 weeks away! Please contact Rick and I at our home email rickjenskidoo@msn.com or call 763-753-9200 to pre-register if you are planning on having your kids race in the Mod. Grass Drags at Princeton on Saturday August 23, please pre-register by the night of August 20th (Wednesday) at 10pm. We'll be setting up brackets for each the 120 Mods and the Kitty Mods. Please pass the word on to friends from other organizations that have experienced racers too…. because the Grass Drag organization wants to have experienced kids racing that day only and doesn't want walk-ons because of the speeds and safety issues. The price will be $10-15 per class. All racers will need Helmet, goggles (or shield), chest protector, long sleeve shirt and long pants as well as shin guards and shoes (NOT Sandals!). We'll give you more information when you pre-register in regards of pit area and where and when to meet on the day of the event, we'll also have insurance waivers to sign the day of the event. KPI will have a booth that the Beltrands are setting up and they are still looking for volunteers to work that, as well.
We look forward to seeing everyone~
Thanks~

The Miller family thanks the Team Beltrand Family for all the hard work setting up KPI at Outlaw Grass Drags. It was a great looking display and we had a lot of people stop and visit and learn about KPI. KPI would not be able to continue to grow and improve if it weren't for all the volunteer work put in by our members.
Thanks again, we look forward to next year.
The Miller Racing family.
P.S. We won't be coming to a Bear hunt with a pop gun next year. We will have a big caliber automatic weapon like the other 'cheaters' that ran in the 120 outlaw modified class this year.

Just a little note about Jed's Laker Lounge. They have good food, kids menu, typical bar & grill stuff, however they do not accept credit cards so bring cash for food and drinks. They do have a cash machine there but it charges a fee. They have been very flexable in having us year after. Please help show our thanks by supporting their business.

Eagle River World Championship Reminder for Hotel Reservations~
If you haven't already, please contact Eagle Waters at 1-800-8-waters and say you are with Kids Pro Ice or their website is http://www.eaglewaters.com to make your reservation. This is a very busy time in the Eagle River area because of the World Championship Derby and most hotels require a 3 night minimum. Eagle Waters is only asking for a 2 night minimum and since we'll be racing Friday and Saturday I would guess most people will be staying at least 2 nights. We do have have our Trophy Ceremony/Banquet there as well on Saturday Evening and we're trying to get an idea of many people to expect for that on Saturday night too to see if we can do something similar. Which for those of you who were there last year -they did an awesome buffet for us in their Banquet room - with kid friendly and of course great Adult food. They are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday for Brunch and if we have enough people staying with them they are willing to be open on Thursday night and Sunday night as well. They are sponsoring us for this event with the Banquet facility and Cash. Please contact them as soon as you can, so you can be assured of place to stay. They have beautiful condos and cabins. Most of us are all in the condos and the kids (young and old) can walk from room to room to visit. They also have garages that you can rent if you'd like to wrench or just to park. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions too. My Cell is 763-567-8737. Happy New Year to Everyone and We'll see you Saturday on the Ice in Siren! Also, another reminder that you need to pre-register to race at the World Championship by Wed Night 1/14/09.

First off, we would like to say that it is great to be alive!
As most of you know or have heard by now, we ran into some trouble last Saturday night.
But thanks to all the efforts and assistance from our great KPI racing family we made it through in one piece and have begun the healing process.
I would like to start off by personally thanking the following people for all the help at the accident site. Rick, Jen, Kyle & Adam Waite, Jeff & Kim Nelson, Dick & Jean Waite, Corey Howard and Mike, Jess, Brady & Sydney Sterbentz. I was just overwhelmed by the number of race families there to help out.
Secondly, we would like to personally thank the following people and families for your thoughts and prayers and the many phone calls, e-mails, flowers, gifts, meals, support and fellowship during this unfortunate event: The entire Waite family, The Randy Houle family, The entire Schoon family, The Sterbentz family, The Bihner, Miller, Junglen and Hal Johnson families, The Jeff Nelson, Beltrand and Steuernagel families, The Doug Danner family, The Duane Wagner family, Clint, Amy, Wyat, Eric & Sara Wittlief, Linda Houle, The Robert Hoglund family, Mark Wrisidlow, Wahl Bros. Racing. Guy Budell Racing, The Dan Strand family, Kathy & John Herman and Mike Parker.
Racing is truly one big family and we are so blessed to have all of you as our friends and racing competitors.
We will straighten things out and get back on the ice soon. It takes more than a Tahoe to stop a Bulldozer!
Many thanks again to all of you and remember to BUCKLE THOSE BELTS!
The show will go on!!!!!

P.S. If there is an award for the most "On The Spot", helpful human being on the planet, I nominate Corey Howard ! You are unbelievable man!

I would like to thank you for the compliment. It really meant alot to me and the rest of my family. It is very true that the racing family is like a second family..and I only did what I know that anyone else in the organization would do for any other member. Myself and the Howard family are grateful that the Child's family is alive and doing well.

Reaching out from Colorado, sure enjoy seeing your kids racing around. None of that here I'm sorry to report, would be interested if anyone is aware of kids racing occuring here? My five and three year olds would enjoy this immensely. Am fixing up a 98 MiniZ and '03 AC Z120, would appreciate any suggestions or ideas on what you;ve done to beef these up, they seem underpowered here at 9500+' in the Rockies. Thanks again.
Thanks for the interest Paul! Have no connections in the Rockies except family in Colorado Springs. You should start up a kids mountain cross club!! LOL Check RECREATIONAL MOTOR SPORTS or TIGER CHASSIS on the web for cool performance parts.

Grab your keyboard and start writing! this new law that went in to effect on February 10th is ridiculous. I am talking about the new law that says you cannot buy any recreational toys for your kids because of possible lead content. You can go to this web site to learn all the details and to sign a letter to congress http://www.tomself.com or write to senator Amy Klobuchar direct.

Hey just wanted to invite anyone who is interested to join an informal meeting after the banquet to discuss the new pro-stock for next year. I have heard a lot of people are interested in building and or competing in it next year so maybe we can clear up a few of the rules so everyone can get started. I think it will be a great class. So bring your ideas and drink of choice and lets talk.

The Princeton Rum River Days parade was a great success! Thank you to those families that volunteered: The Wayne Nelson family, The Sears and the Howard families. We handed out 892 bags of snakes (yes, snakes) and 800+ flyers on KPI. I was a great opportunity to get the word out on KPI and by the many comments we heard it was certainly worth the time.
Thanks!

I just talked to Rick Waite who is building the track on Turtle Lake. The ice shaver is taking all the crappy white, soft ice off the track so we will have good hard ice to race on. There will be a $8/racer additional fee this week to cover the cost of the ice shaver. This can be paid when you pay for your races tomorrow morning.
We will be able to park on the ice tomorrow. It will be cool in the morning, around -10 but should warm up to about 10 degrees in the afternoon. The winds are suppose to be light at 5 to 10 MPH should it should be an awesome day for RACING!!!!!
The Tek Vests we ordered should be here today so I should have Tek Vests to rent or sell.
